Anna Karenina
Anna Karenina is a delightful explosion of colour, romance and tragedy that does credit to director Joe Wright. Its theatrical set changes, dazzling costumes and non-stop emotional high reeling are breath-taking. Whilst it is based on the well-known novel by Tolstoy, it constantly reminded me of the exuberant filmmaking style of Baz Luhrmann films Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom.
